My grandmother was a Pennington, but she hardly remembers her family. I know her father was James Roby Pennington b. 1880 in Johnson County Tn, d. 1960 or 61 in I believe Smyth Co. Va. He was married to Cordia Gentry. I can't seem to find any further info. Thanks for your help.

I am looking for information concerning Elizabeth Pennington born in 1466 Muncaster. Her father is listed as John Pennington born 1434 Muncaster and her mother as Isabel Boughton born 1438 Muncaster. Elizabeth Married one Walter Strickland born 1465 but I have no date for the marriage. They had a child, Agnes Strickland born 1486 in Syzergh Castle as were the other Stricklands. I am looking for information on the Taylor line that claims to have been born at Pennington Castle.

Thomas TAYLOR, 2nd, b.abt. 15 Mar 1574 in London,England Married Margaret SWINDERBY b. abt. 1578 in Denmark.

These two lovebirds appear to have given birth to all their children at Pennington Castle, including my(2)grandfathers: James TAYLOR b. abt. 12 Feb 1610 at Pennington Castle

John TAYLOR b. at Pennington Castle

My question is, if the TAYLORS were not the owners of the castle, what were they doing there? Was is common to take in other people and let them live at your castle. Could they be servents-(although I find that possibilty unlikely because of lower nobilty found only 3 generations prior)and is there suggestions on how to solve this puzzle of why they were there. Thank you.
