History

The PRA first established a Research Committee a number of years ago under the able leadership of Ayvonne Roach.  In 1998, the Research Committee was reorganized and several specific goals and objectives were established.

The Research Director is the Chairman of the Research Committee.  The Research Committee consists of the Chairman, Assistant Research Directors (ARD), Family Group Leaders and other persons as needed to complete specific tasks or work on specific projects.

The Research Director appoints Assistant Research Directors (ARD) to be responsible for specific projects, tasks or handle other aspects of research for the PRA.

The Research Director appoints Family Group Leaders to be responsible for each active Family Group.

The Research Director appoints other persons as needed to complete specific tasks or work on specific projects.

Family Group Leader and Assistant Research Directors

General Responsibilities, Duties and Tasks of Assistant Research Director (ARD)

  1. The Assistant Research Director (ARD) reports directly to the Research Director on all matters, but each is expected to be strong team participants. Each is a valued member of our Team. Their opinions and suggestions are carefully and thoroughly considered. Their decisions and recommendations on those matters for which they have responsibility are subject only to approval by the Research Director and/or the Board of Directors.
  2. They will be an active member of the Pennington Research Association Research Committee.
  3. They will actively participate in making suggestions and recommendations to the Chairman of the Research Committee on any and all matters concerning the mission, goals and objectives of the Pennington Research Association and the Research Committee.
  4. They are expected to provide material for the Pennington Research Association web site.
  5. They are expected to assist as needed in special projects as assigned by the Research Committee and/or the Research Director or the Board of Directors.

Specific Responsibilities, Duties and Tasks for the Assistant Research Director (ARD) for Family Group Project

  1. Meet all the job description requirements listed for a Family Group Leader and those for an Assistant Research Director.
  2. Must identify the Family Group Leaders from Pennington Research Association members.
  3. Must set up communications with them and with Research Committee (both electronically and U.S. Postal service).
  4. Define the methodology to accomplish their objective.
  5. Set some time lines and expectations for when the work is due from the Group Leaders.
  6. Report back to the Research Committee on a monthly basis as a minimum and manage the production of the yearly report from the Family Group Leaders. This report must be submitted to the Research Committee no later than March 1 of each year. This provides time for the Research Committee to review the report and to make its' recommendations to the Board of Directors prior to the annual meeting in July.
