| Starting New Family Group
Are you still looking for a Family
Group? Are
you wondering who else in the PRA may have the
same ancestors? Well, guess what? You are not alone! Almost 25%
of our members have yet to identify which PRA
Family Group they belong with! All of us can list our oldest know
Pennington ancestor but some of us just have not
been able to go back far enough to connect to a
known Family Group.
In the John French Master File (JFMF) there
are many such "unconnected family
groups" because we have yet to connect them
to a known PRA Family Group. Here is the exciting news! If you
have not yet identified which Family Group you
belong to, we want you to become a Group Leader
AND to start a new Family Group based on your
oldest known Pennington ancestor. That's
right! Start your own Family Group! A great example of how this works
is to look at how the latest Family Groups,
John
Penington, b. abt. 1585, #33 and
Nicholas
Pennington, b. abt. 1678, #34 were started in 2001. The Group Leaders,
Nick
Penington and Lana
Pennington, could not connect their oldest know
ancestors with a specific group
and asked to start a new group. They provided some great genealogical research with supporting
justification. The request was approved in July, 2001! Now all of
the members who belonged to these previously
"unconnected groups" have
their own group. How about it? Do you want to start your own Family Group and start connecting to other members who share your ancestors? The process is fairly easy and we can help! If you are interested, please contact Gene Pennington, Research Director. Page Last Updated: 03/10/2007
